Ohmarinus, you are right, fixed the typo now.

Cefiar, there are low pass filters on the analog inputs. This is to prevent any voltage spikes coming from the heater cables that often run parallel to the analog cables as you point out, but there is no protection from putting 12V directly on the inputs, no. That would probably kill that channel (I have had that happen to me). A workaround would then be to use one of the other channels. There are 7 channels broken out on BeagleBone Black and only three are used currently. A simple jumper cable should suffice if one should be so unlucky..

Great comment, and if there needs to be a new revision, I'll look into adding over voltage protection : )
