The endstop pinout is probably | +vcc | gnd | signal | i think to ensure that also optoendstops can be used, which need vcc. I think the OP probably wired the mechanical endstop between vcc and gnd, thus shorting them to each other. This backs up the assumption that the ic2 is probably the 5v regulator, assumption which could be tested after desoldering the defect part, and checking to see where the tracks lead to. And if so, that can be replaced by a 7805 which can be found anywhere.
