Re: POLOLUSTEPPER-1.fp missing from official Repo?
Oh, hold on, I see now at the end of the file that it says "footprint=DIP16". So why is it not DIP16 in the part description?: [i.imgur.com]

Hi There, I don't know if anyone else has tried this but, I'm wondering how I can move CONN4 in the Gen7 PCB layout? It seems to be fixed in place. To be honest I'm not too familiar w/ gEDA, but at...

I'll finalise my KiCad layout (need to add the expansion ports in) and post it up on github at some point in the near future - I don't know gEda, but do know KiCad - I think KiCad is a little easier...

I don't think driving two steppers will make it run any faster. Screw drives have backlash problems (play in the screw mechanisms) unless you go to adjustable nuts and funny screw threads (ACME etc)...

I'd really prefer to just figure out what is wrong here. But thanks. I have a feeling it has something to do with fixing components in place, (I can do that as well), but I dont see an option to...

When you are running in micro stepping mode, the stepper it behaving like an AC motor. Missing a micro step is not a problem if it occurs between the motor and the driver (but- see below). If it...

Found the answer, there is a lock tool, click the footpring w/ the lock tool to toggle off/on. Cheers.

Based on the output from pronterface it seems that your printer is Ok. At least you have a firmware there, so there is no need to start fiddling with the bootloader.

There are hundreds of different controllers and probably thousands of different stepper boards. People have been making both since at least the 1940's. There are plenty of combinations that will not...

I'd second Uncle_bobs suggestions - work out the mechanics first, then choose motors to drive it all (you'll be surprised what a single motor is capable of), a good mechanical design will not require...

Hi guys! I just got started playing with my new ramps and arduino boards. Super stoked. ^ ^ Just a question: does it matter which order I turn the power on and off for the arduino and the ramps board?...

They don't have the best connectors on the board (the disconnectable kind) but very glad they've changed to the fuses.
View ArticleRe: What can damage stepper drivers?
the order you turn on the RAMPS and the Arduino shouldn't make any difference. Some people have noticed that the Arduino may reset when you power up the RAMPS board. As for disconnecting the drivers...

Buy an arduino mega, upload a reprap firmware, and in that firmware pins.h file, check or alter locations for step/dir/en pins, and from that arduino header take these to each motor. For a thermistor...
