Motors inconsistent jogging in positve direction
I have replaced the ramps based board on my Leapfrog Creatr to a Rambo 1.2 with LCD. Setting up the new board was going well until I noticed that the X and Y motors were not turning consistently when...

Thanks! Just what I was looking for. Since we're all on the same page would you mind explaining one last detail? So you connect power (purple) to the VCC pin next to the PS_ON and the RESET switch?...

I believe that is right, SamS. I actually spliced the 5v standby line into a USB connector so my Arduino is getting powered through USB (by way of a Raspberry Pi). But reading the RAMPS wiki it sounds...

Just realized my multimeter reads 1.1 Ohms when I short out the probes... I guess this means I have a defective multimeter? That would also explain why I measured the resistor at about 1 Ohm higher...

I like the idea, I like the driver chips your using.. I think your marketing division needs to be shot! The shape makes it dumb and unusable.

Hehe, yes - the form factor of the PCB is something like a indiiegogo campaign special. We are currently discussing to release a square version. I think it will come in the long run. BTW if you are...

Layout of the developement board and schematics. The protection components are of course optional. Ambrop, do you have tools for SMD soldering?

I'm looking at the MK1 heated bed and I'm trying to figure out what Prusa meant when he said it is easily converted to 24v. Current = Voltage / Resistance Power = Voltage * Current With a 12v power...

Does your meter have a "zero" button like most do, which compensates for the varying resistances between test leads and dirty banana plugs?????

While you're shooting people, don't forget to throw some lead into the person who forgot to put mounting holes in the PCB..... :)
View ArticleRe: Heated bed power calculation
My guess is that you'd need to cut a track or two to get it to run 24V without issue. The Mk2b and Mk3 have three terminals. It's effectively 2 resistors with one end on each joined to the other...

No; this is my multimeter. Does this mean my heatbed is shorting out? Should I return the multimeter?
View ArticleRe: Heated bed power calculation
I forgot about how resistance adds in parallel versus series. I can convert the parallel board into series by making three cuts and moving one of the power connections. The total resistance of the...

If your meter is definitely reading 1.1 ohms shorted and heat beds are usually around the 1.1 ohm mark then the bed does look suspicious. Your meter is still very usable - It might even be the leads...

Checked the date... not april 1st... but this is definitely a joke. With your fake steak in place you get a z height of 60mm? out of a normal 200. Thats practically 2d!!

Fortunately not. Yes - the PCB shape is a bit of a joke. But it is mounted on an acrylic sheet BEHIND the Z-axis frame. A bit hard to see - but the y carriage barely tousches the plate - so you do not...
