Re: XBOX 360 Power Supply, last connections?

In order to take the power supply off of standby you must connect the blue ( power standby) and the red 5v line. I used a switch on this line. Its just like a lot of computer power supplies, except...

Re: XBOX 360 Power Supply, last connections?

Gotcha, thanks! Since the GO is all about portability, I'm hoping to use the X-box PSU to power the whole shebang (including heated bed). The laptop-esque PSU (must put out 6 A?) it came with is...

Re: XBOX 360 Power Supply, last connections?

It should be Ok. What size is your print bed? I've used it on an 8"x8" heated bed. I guess if you had to and had the room you could use two. I think you'll be in good shape. I've used computer power...

Re: teacup error

For calibration (number of steps etc.), you can use [reprap.org] or just calculate the necessary factor from the numbers you gave above and the x_steps that are already defined in your config file,...

Re: teacup error

Quotetravel speed was set at 4800 Best of breed firmwares manage to get about 2000 mm/min with your setup. Also, 4800 mm/min would require some 2500 RPM of the stepper motor, likely more than this...

Mendel: what termistor to use for heat bed?

Just got my Mono Mendel kit a while ago and have been slowly (but surely) building it, but yesterday while soldering the heat bed thermistor I messed up and ruined it. So now I'm trying to find out...

Re: Mendel: what termistor to use for heat bed?

Incorrectly set thermistor can show you +30C more than it is, you will force extrusion, and bam hot end damage or stuff like that. That is to say, if you skip messing with thermistor, in the end...

Re: Mendel: what termistor to use for heat bed?

Force extrusion? This is for the heatbed, not the extruder, The extruder uses a 100k thermistor like you said, but the heatbed only uses a 10k one. And the first one I link to, the max. 250ºC one, has...

Re: XBOX 360 Power Supply, last connections?

Yes, 8 x 8 and so far so good. Been printing ABS at 230° (extruder) and 100° (bed) with no trouble. Thanks again!

Re: Mendel: what termistor to use for heat bed?

Oh yes i missed the heated part. So if you already have 100k for hotend, why not get same for heated bed. Probably this one

Re: XBOX 360 Power Supply, last connections?

Ya no prob, I think this Xbox power supply doesn't get enouph credit and coverage. It has some of the best circuit protection and is reliable. It also heats everything up fast and it also is slim and...

Re: XBOX 360 Power Supply, last connections?

Oh ya I was going to ask you if you used the 5volt line to power your logic circuits or did you use a wall wart or something else.

Re: Mendel: what termistor to use for heat bed?

Yes, I bought a similar one, but a 10k version (because that's what was in the kit so I didn't want to change that). But that was before someone pointed out to me that the list of components in the...
