You have plugged you endstops in wrong. they are now shorting 5v to grd when closed. This has killed the voltage regulator on the mega.

I think one can assume that these pinouts are very well tested. I'd connect the other axes to the X axis to find out wether these motors work at all. Especially cheapo "Pololus" are known to often not...

Same as in the other thread: connect the X stepper to a working axis to find out wether it works at all. And always power down before disconnecting a stepper.
